they get too dry, they are severed, or they are irritated
too dry- hot day, stop fastest
severed/damaged- hit in nose with football, hard to stop
irritated- nose picking, somewhat easy to stop

The nasal membrane is thin.
If it dries out as during the winter months when we tend to keep our homes too warm and dry out the air we breath,it can "tear" or break. . .then your nose bleeds as the vessels are right under that thin dry membrane.
Uncontrolled high blood pressure can cause the nose to bleed as well.
Blowing a very dry nose could be enough to cause the membrane to break or "tear" and the nose will bleed.
Trying to dig dry "buggers" out of your nose can scrape your dry membranes and cause the bleeding.

You have tiny little blood vessels in your nose and some are more sensitive then others, sometimes when the get irritated they bleed.

my hubby got them alot and the doctor said he needed vitamin K..it helps with blood clotting. he has been taking it and the nose bleeds have stopped.

Dry air and sinuses. You have capillaries close to the surface in your nose. I used to get that as a kid. Grew out of it.
