Indonesia lies on a fault line, a huge crack in the Earth's surface, where the hardened crust that forms the outer layer of the planet is at its thinnest. The Indonesian fault is what seismologists call a subduction zone, an area where one plate buckles under another, causing the land above to crumple.

It is on a very active tectonic plate. Most of the real active ones are in the ocean, and since they are a group of islands, were formed by volcanoes and earthquakes from the shifting tectonic plates.

it doesn't. earthquakes hit by Indonesia. not Indosesia hits by earthquakes.
