I am 25 and unlike many people my age, I don't feel that biological clock ticking. Many of my friends already have baby names picked out and they're not even married yet! Is there anyone out there that has ever felt like they just do not want children? Your life is never the same from the moment you get pregnant, so I was wondering how you knew that you were ready for such a huge step....or that you weren't. Those of you that do have children, do you ever miss how life was before them? Or does this mindset eventually change?

When was I ready? No.

When did I become ready? The same time I heard my daughter's heartbeat on the sonogram.

Do you miss your old life? Sure, but you miss thing about your childhood as well. That's normal. But trust me, once you become attached to your child, the child rearing years will be the best years of your life.

Firstly, don't let anyone talk you into having children!! Not all women are mothers. My sister always said she would never have children and she hasn't and doesn't miss not having had them so it's an individual thing. I started getting really broody when I was about 26 years old. All I could think about was babies and becoming a mother. My husband and I discussed it for ages before we both decided that yes, we were ready to start a family. I often wonder what my life would have been like without children but I have four and don't regret having them at all!! You're only 25. You might decide when you're older that you want kids but then you might never feel the urge. The choice will be yours alone. Hope all goes well for you!

I have 2 children and am only 25. My husband I will soon be trying for baby #3. I never miss life before children. They are truly a blessing and they are what makes life worth living! However there are some people that just never want children. It is a personal choice. When you decide that the time is right for you, and you hold your baby in your arms for the first time, you will have no regrets. Good luck

I never wanted kids.. ever. Then, I met my soulmate and a few years later, unplanned, I got pregnant. I tell ya, I wouldn't change that for the world. But there are some people who no matter what, NEVER want kids, even well into their 30's (I know one personally, my sister). She complains a lot about how she's got two degrees and nothing to show for it and she's so miserable, but she wont' change what she is doing, therefore her results are the same. The timing is different for everyone, but don't deny the change when it happens to you because of pride or whatever else is going on. I don't miss how life was before.. it was hectic, busy, stressful... I still get stress but my days are so much brighter with these kids and they do offer a distraction from any adult worries you may have.

After I got married I felt ready to have a kid. I had one, waited 3 years, and now I feel ready to have another. Having a child is an awesome experience. You lose a lot of freedom and spontaneity of being single, but it's worth it - I mean that.

its a very natural thing having children - theres no right or wrong way you learn as time goes on and parenthood just falls into place its quite natural nothing to worry about, when your time comes you will be fine.
