Rottweiler!!!! I've seen a Rottweiler fight a pitbull the Rottweiler took the first shot and jumped on the pitbull and the Rottweiler had the pitbull down and the pitbulo couldn't fight back it was trying to but I guess the rottie was to powerful rotties have a massive bite force higher than a pitbulls force and they are larger and heavier definitely a better guard dog

I think the pitbull would win..there in way more fights and come from a long line of dog fighting rottweilers are just agressive dogs the pitbull is little tough and can move pretty quick the rottweilers are just big and gauty dogs!

It never ceases to amaze me how purely stupid humans are. Neither would win both would lose. Fighting animals is illegal and for good reason, its cruelty. How bout we put you in a pit bull TERRIER suit and have a rottweiler chew you up, does that sound cool to you? cause it certainly sounds amusing to me. Now it does not sound amusing when its the real pit bull terrier, a truly loyal loving breed, that has been ruined by idiots like you.

I say the rottweiler being they are average. Pitbull dogs are really very nice, kind, sensitive dogs and they are only made mean by owners who make them so. The rottweiler has it in the blood more to attack and probably win. That is from what I know of these breeds of dogs, not scientific, but, my observation and knowledge.

Fighting dogs is wrong not matter what breed. Why don't we ask you who would win a fight between you and your friend?
But after reading everyone comments it's amazing the misconception of either dog. I am around pit bulls and have 2 rotties myself. And help a friend with his K-9 unit of sheppards and Rotties.
Pit bulls are raised to fight (and you notice the word raised!) this is the owners doing. Both are working dogs, they are stubborn and strong-willed but both have a big heart. I know sounds sappy. People have the misconception that stubborn and strong-will is aggressive. Also go to your local Animal Control and ask which they get more complaints of and you will be surprised that they get tons of cases of small dogs biting people but hardly big dogs. It's just that when they do people make a big deal out of it. People forget that they are big with big mouths and big teeth.
Also, they look mean and again people taking them at face value. Yes they are easily trained to be whatever you want them to be but again notice the word TRAINED. Also wouldn't you think that would mean they are smart to know what the are doing?
Also, for your question I would need to know who the owners are cause then you would know who MADE their dog more aggressive. Any dog can be trained to Fight.

the 'average' pitbull and the 'average' rottweiler are not interested in attacking each other... So it would depend on the individual dog.

the pittbull will win i saw a one year old pitbull kill 2 full grown rottweilers that ganged up on the pittbull in minutes the rottweilers were dead

well dogs shouldn't be fighting but the pit bull was breed for fighting and is practically born with muscle. And The pit gets lock jaw whenever it bites down hard on something so once it took a bite of the rottie the rottie would be done for.
