Each time you open a blank document Word opens a template called normal.dot

If you want the default settings to have a different font size all you have to do is go to FIle>Open and in the file type select document template. Open the template called normal.dot (you may have to browse to the templates folder) make the font and size changes you want then click on the save icon. Close your document and start a new document your changes should be working now.

***Hint*** if your normal.dot gets messed up all you have to do is search for normal.dot with windows and delete it. Word will create a new one for you.

on the right of the web page there should be a drop down bar with the call of the font visile locate the font you pick and choose it. Do a similar for the size. To eliminate double spacing bypass to the edit menu and there should be a menu for spacing
