I've never met my real dad and it's been 35 years now. I have used geanology search and ancestory search. I've also used the white pages. Does anyone know of any free sites I can use that would help me out? I've been searching since I was 18 and so far now luck. The problem is he is a Smith. My luck.
Any Ideas please feel free to let me know.

My mother is still alive and I talk to her frequently but, she has no idea where my father is. I've known my mom all my life.
My father was never adopted. But, I want to find him just so I can meet him. Even if its just once. If anyone has any idea of some free public record sites, it may also help. Thanks to all your your answers.

You never said if your mother is alive, or other family for that matter. My own father was gone when I was 9, my mom told me he was dead, but something in my heart said he was alive, so around 25 I asked her she still said dead and I told her fine I will find his grave, or make calls to the last place I remember, suddenly he was alive and she had a number for him. Keep asking and looking for those you remember for those are the ones who can help you. I wish you luck in finding him

I assume you know his full name? Have you used Yahoo People Search? Since his name is Smith, it would be good to know his complete name and possibly the state he lives in or did live in. Type that information in People Search and see what happens. Also, have you tried to "Google" him? You should also go to your local library and explain what you are doing. Some libraries have genealogy databases that you can use, or they can tell you where to look. Good luck.

Please think long and hard about what you would like to do. Sometimes the outcome isnt always a good one and the person you find may not be the person you wish them to be.

myspace...

You know what....this sounds really interesting.
I'd like to try and find someone like that.

I'm going to try and see if I can find someone that I haven't seen in like 20 years.
