I am 13 my little sister is 9 and is already taller than me. I am 5'3" and she is 5'4". Both of our parents are short (mom is 5'0" and dad is 5'5"). She has recently started growing at a rate of about 1 inch a month. She also has bigger feet than I do. I wear a size 4 in boys and she wears a size 7 1\2 in womens. I can't help but feel that before long I will only be as tall as her belly. She will wear our moms highest heels which have a 4 inch heel around me. Her favorite thing to do is to slouch and walk into a room carrying moms shoes to where I can't see them and say that I have grown and when I look I do look taller but then she turns away and puts on moms high heels and then turns and stretches so that I can watch her appear to grow taller and then she says that I will be her little brother for the rest of our lives. In moms shoes she is about 5'8" and I only come up to her nose.

Also she said she has found a website teat sells shoes that are 12" high. Mom says she can have them when she saves her allowance. They ordered them the other day and they ordered her a size 9 so she can grow into them. I think she is stretching moms shoes out because mom has been commenting about how loose her shoes are. And its almost time to measure again, we measure my height every 6 months and hers every 2 or 3 months She will have her shoes next week. I won't even come up to her shoulder, and I really think that she has grown some more since she ordered the shoes. How should I handle my sister after she has her new shoes and is about 6'4" looking down at her 5'3" big brother? Is it possible that I will ever be taller than her again?

So I missed the question you asked! Do you mean is it ok to still play dress- up?

Boys grow at a slower pace then girls. Also a size 7 1/2 womens show is equal to a boys 4 or 5. You have not reached your peak of growing by any means. You will grow more between middle school and high school. don't worry

No hun you are worrying for nothing. Girls generally hit puberty earlier with shorter growth spurts. Your big growth spurt may be just around the corner and may be a lot more intense. You won't be a little brother to her as when you both grow up, everything falls into place and this will become inconsequential.

Don't worry about it. Girls have their growth spurt before boys do. You might be 17 years old before you get yours. Odds are - you'll end up taller, but who cares anyway. Sure, you might get all kinds of grief for being shorter for awhile but remember it's not always a blessing for girls to tower over everyone else, including boys her age. Nobody has the courage to ask a tall girl to dance or go out, and they often get teased for being too tall.

Don't worry about it too much. If you're only 13, then I doubt you're done growing vertically. Most males reach their maximum height at 18. Until then, start working out. Even if you do end up being shorter than her, you can always be stronger and show her who's boss when she starts giving you lip! LOL =)
