i really like one of my good friends. i've known him since i was like six.

we've been on-again-off-again "talking" for a while.

well at the end of may this year we were really close to dating. but then we both said some stupid things and it wasn't the right time.

well he was dating this girl at the beginning of the new school year. she broke up with him this week for one of his friends.

i want to tell him how sorry i am for him but i don't want it to seem like i was waiting for it to happen or that i'm glad. i'm not at all. i feel really horrible for him. i just want to be a good friend.

so do i tell him how sorry i am now?

or do i wait a while for things to calm down a little?

just be yourself, and just still be friends but maybe you should only bring up the subject if he does first. and then slowly move into what you'll say to him, but be careful not to say the wrong thing.

well, if you are still friends, it shouldn't be hard to say "i'm sorry about Jane. i'm here if you want to talk." but if you AREN'T still friends, well, it WOULD look like you were after him if you talked to him right now.
