Some people can get rid of their depression without medication, by positive thinking and changing their enviroment, but the best medicine of all is PRAYERS and focusing on positive things past or present.
Open your Bible and turn to Philippians Chapter 4 verses 5 & 6.
and read what St. Paul says about ""Anxiety"".
But if this does not work for you, then I suggest that you talk to a Doctor, as soon as possible.

Check out your papers for listings on support groups and when they meet. Find a friend to go with you, if you're afraid the first time. Or else when you call the groups, tell the person how you feel about going there. An experienced support groupie will be honest with you, perhaps for a first time, will offer to meet you some place for coffee to allow time to warm up; or else , depending on your needs, introduce you to someone of the same gender, to sit with you, for the first few times.
Don't worry. I've been some of these groups myself. I was extremely shy, depressed. I'm no longer there. I have a sense of myself , even if sometimes i still feel demotivated. I'm not perfect, no one is, they just progress.
One day at a time,

Well, it depends on what you're depressed about. Sometimes I get depressed too. The best way to get over it is to get out of the house and do something productive like volunteer work. Helping others always makes you feel better. There is always someone else worse off than you. Call a friend and go out and do something fun. Watch a funny movie and laugh your a** off!! Try to stay active whatever you do. I hope you feel better!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going and exercising tends to be the best way to fight off depression. Another way to get rid of depression is just talk to someone about it, by letting someone know your depressed you will be astounded at how much that can help. If you have no one to talk to write your feelings down this may also help a great amount. I would also try to not watch any movies, TVs or read any books that hold a great amount of negatives to them.

When you are depressed, you have to see what you are depressed over. Sometimes in depression, the person doesn't know why they are depressed, they just become gloomy and sad and all of that. Also, make sure you have positive people around you. Try to understand why you are depressed. Take yoga and meditation classes. I know its hard, but try to look at everything in a positive way. Everything that you touch or you feel or you eat, ANYTHING try to think of it as positive. Depression is just a mental sickness, something that is in our minds, we can easily come over it if we want to. Good Luck!

It depends on how depressed you are and how long you have been depressed. If this is something that is impacting your functioning you should definately talk to a close friend or family member or see a dr or therapist. If you feel suicidal, don't hesitate, go to a hospital! If you are just having a bad day and this isn't something that has been going on awhile, pamper yourself a bit, it might help you feel better.

I was depressed for many years until I decided I was allergic to wheat. Ever since I stopped eating wheat and corn syrup I have been fine. Unfortunately many doctors are more willing to prescribe meds than to actually figure out what is causing your depression. I think many people are allergic to common foods or food additives. Eat "health food'. Don't eat refined grains, refined sugars, caffeine, or hydrogenated oils, and you will probably feel better a lot quicker than taking drugs.
Take it easy on yourself, you don't have to be perfect or happy all the time to have a good life. Find things to occupy your time. Do nice things for kids and old people and you will feel lots better!

Call your doctor for an appointment. Talk to him or her about what you're feeling. What do they suggest? Ask questions you may have.
In the meantime, try to maintain a daily schedule if possible. Get out and keep in touch with family and friends. Exercise can help as can helping others, such as a neighbor or volunteer work.
I wish you well.
