I just recently lost my first and formost the best youth pastor ever because of some rumors that got started. I don't know if this is bad or not, but its like every Sunday morning, the only thing that got me up and going and looking forward for church was him;otherwise I wouldn't wake up for it. Not a crush or anything, just the fact that I need someone to look up to.

So now our main pastor (who I do not like at all) is telling us that he is going to find us another one after Christmas. We are losing our youth because of this. We have youth that we already lost because our other youth pastors had left so some of our youth followed them. I am on the verge of following this current youth pastor, but scared that he may leave again.

So My true question is: How many youth pastors have you gone through, and how Can I deal with this pain of losing him and his family? Plus, should I follow him?

My main pastor has lied to me, and that night I was about an inch close of walking out.

You’re idolizing your youth pastor. Idolatry, according to the Bible, is wrong. What is right is the love (brotherly, non-sexual love) that you have towards your youth pastor. Jesus commanded us to love each other. This is good.

Your youth pastor was respecting, and loving God. This is what your youth pastor was doing, by being someone for you to look up to. Follow his example, by following your youth pastor's example of following Jesus.

Seek a relationship with God. God may be using your youth pastor to teach you something.

Well I know there are some bad people in high positions in churches but there are also bad people under good pastors who like to start trouble.

There have been some documented cases of molestations and whatnot in churches, but not many... but check here and see that people CLAIM they were molested in church about 500 times a day. at least have the claims against churches and their pastors are lies and weirdos who want to jump the bandwagon. Sometimes it happens for real but I think any claim should be well examined before it can be made public.

I am a youth pastor (well not ordained but I am the main youth leader), I have the backing of my main pastor though, which helps.

Cope with the pain in a Godly way. don't give up on God because people let you down.

We lose one about every other month. Church gossip does a lot of damage.

When there are no good role models YOU are the role model. Step up to the plate.
