IF I get beat while in Police custody and DID nothing to deserve it, I don't care what my lawyer said, I would sue. The problem is that we are a sue happy country and people sue when they are only angry for getting what they deserved! BUT IF your case is legitimate, then you should sue (and I was a cop). The only way to stop bad cops is to file a civil rights violation with the FBI and a civil suit. When Departments start loosing a lot of money for what a few bad cops do, they will change their ways and get rid of the bad apples. Their is NO EXCUSE for beating a person in handcuffs and behind bars - their are other ways to control an individual without getting your testosterine off.

Everyone should learn a lesson from this. If you haven't already, then write out everything that happened, who's responsible for each thing, including yourself. Write a journal on why you should forgive and then move on.

That sucks, beating a prisoner is a crime. You should have pressed charges with the prosecutor.

You have suffered enough. You should get over it. You already know what you did was not right. You are unlikely to do it again. I suggest you put it behind you and move on.

the anger is inside of you. suing (and even winning) won't make it go away. you need to work on that anger. it will only hurt you in the long run. i recommend yoga or martial arts to try to get
a handle on your feelings.
