No, braiding your hair wont make it grow any faster but eating foods with gelatin and drinking milk will help your hair grow quicker.

Nope, But being braided can protect the hair from damage and allow it to grow longer . With the lose of hairs, or the breaking off of the ends, the hair will not be shortened, and appear to grow faster.

Since the hair is "protected" by either purchased hair or just the braid pattern- it would appear that your hair was growing faster.

BUT the catch to that is if the hair is braided too TIGHTLY you'll actually loose MORE hair.

The new growth is more evident when hair is braided since it is not when it grows in-giving the illusion that hair is growing faster.

But when hair is gently protected it is less likely to break- kinda of like when you get acrylic nails- your nails grow and seem to do so fast-- but when you remove the acrylic- they are destroyed.

It appears to grow faster because it's not being abused by blow dryers and hot appliances. The hair isn't breaking as much as it would under normal circumstances.

Nope. Neither does shaving or cutting your hair. It all grows the same speed with a little variation during summer and winter.

I know that black girl's hair is very fragile and they break ever so often. When you braid it, it prevents it from breaking and it grows longer.
