Try priceline.com, expedia.com, or orbitz.com. I often travel for business and need both hotels and airfare, and Priceline is usually the cheapest in my experience. However, it depends (of course) on when and where you want to go. I recommend trying Priceline packages for hotel and airfare if you need both, becuase sometimes they sell packages really cheap. My recommendation is www.sidestep.com. I use it all the time. However, when you find the cheapest fare on the site, I advise that you do a final comparison to the actual site it found its data. it has been known to be off by a few dollars. In my case it is usually cheaper to use sidestep, but there have been times when the price has been $5-10 cheaper on the actual airline website.
