My girlfriend tells me she is kind of scared sometimes to show her love because her last boyfriend dumped her and she used to be really expressive with him, I know she loves me and I love her very much, she is the sweetest thing on the phone or when we are alone, but in school I hardly get her attention, she tells me shes scared because she was really expressive with him and she was rejected, I would never do that to her and I don't want her to be cold-blooded because of some other asshole, she has been changing little by little, i know it's hard but I want to do something to help how can I? I love her so much and I know she loves me so much.

Give her time, when she reailzes you are staying around for a while she will show her feelings more. Once a woman has been hurt it is very hard to trust a man completley again. They all seem to be the same. Dont just tell her that your different, BE DIFFERENT!

If she is "scared" to show you love in public then that probably means that she is either cheating or planning to. She does not want others to see that she is involved with somebody...
Now if the case is that she is scared to show you love when it is just the two of you that could mean one of two things:
1) She is too young for a serious relationship
-or-
2) She has issues and you should run for the hills!

Hope this helped... Good Luck! Great Question!

Don't worry about how affectionate she is in public. It's what happens when you are alone that matters. Besides, it adds a little class to the relationship this way. You know she isn't just showing off to get attention, she really cares about you.

It has nothing to do with you its her own complex...she was hurt in the past and its hard to get over that sometimes..just try your hardest to explain to her that you are not him and she can be expressive around you all she wants. It still might take some time for her to adjust but if you love her you will be patient.

Just be patient and keep doing what you're doing. She's already changing little by little and that's the only way for change to happen. Be honest and open with her and keep the communication going.

Explain to her how you feel. Tell her not every guy is the same. If you mean she was expensive with him, as in buying him everything- tell her you don't expect all that. You expect to be loved by the one you love. Relationships aren't about money. Tell her not to be scared, you're there for her and you love her a lot!
