i need a good science fair project that would be ok with a very picky teacher in the 8th grade.

Which activity is the best exercise for increasing heart rate? Scootering, walking, running, skating?
Which material is best for protecting something fragile? Take potato chips and wrap them different ways - bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc. Mail them to yourself. Which ones are intact? Take pictures before, during wrapping, and after you receive them.
Also, check www.dicovery.com. It's the discovery channel web site and they have a lot of ideas.
The show Mythbusters can also give you some ideas, but be careful, some of them should only be done by professionals. You might be able to take one of their ideas and modify it, though.

The transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly. or How volcanoes artwork. or an electric circuit or The water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation) There are 3 off the precise of my head. i like the butterfly one the terrific. sturdy luck.
