Iraq is falling apart, and 20,000 additional troops can’t put it back together again.

In October, a record number of Iraqis—3,709—were killed. With a vicious cycle of sectarian violence on top of the insurgency, the idea that 20,000 more troops can do much of anything is deluded. Iraq is a lost cause.

The effective use of the troops there would do better than sending more in. But this was a stoopid PC war from the beginning unfortunately due to the constant media coverage and the spineless idiots watching.

The idiocy of the rules of engagement there have cost the us lives.

No the number of troops isn't the problem. The lack of "spent brass" is the problem. Doesn't work to well when they have to get killed before they are allowed to do anything.

How is it that the press can always find these guys parading around with RPGs and AK-47s but the authorities can't.
