With my son potty training was a breeze but keep in mind every child is different. I tried the pull ups and it did not work. Putting a child on a big toilet can be scary. I got a potty seat that you can sit on the toilet. They make them for boys that have a guard on the front. I also stopped using pull ups. I put my son in underwear. It was the easiest thing for me. He did not like that when he went potty there was nothing there to catch it. I think that pull ups are like diapers. The child thinks pull ups are diapers and then they think that it is ok to go instead of going to the big potty.

Good luck! I have a boy who is over 3.5 yrs and still refuses to use the toilet. I've tried every single trick in the book. I'm about to give up. I hope your potty training adventure goes better than mine has (my other kids were potty trained by 2).

Get a potty chair, then the next 2 weeks every 30-45 minutes put him on it and tell him to pee or poop, if he starts crying give him his favorite book and TELL him he can get up After he pees or poops. Then and here is the biggie when he accomplishes this mighty fine deed, give him his favorite treat. M&M's or a cookie or whatever but something special that he doesn't ordinarily get all the time. and don't forget to praise him abundantly. (Sometimes they like to flush their own poop in the big potty but be careful and prepared because sometimes they want to admire their feat and get quite upset to watch you flush it away. (if that happens wait till later when he is busy and then dispose of it quietly. Hope this helps. Hang in there 2 solid weeks no slacking and you will be well on your way to a potty trained 3 year old. ( Accidents do occur so don't get too upset)

With my son i stopped putting on diapers and put him right in underwear. I didnt use pullups because I think those are pointless. If my son wet then he had to wait till I could change him..which wasn't forever but it wasn't always right away. i made him go every like 30 minutes to an hour. If he didn't want to go then he wouldn't get those special things throughout the day that he wanted...my son was potty trained about two months after he turned two.

What we do with our two yr. old is we put him on the potty and read him some Disney books. At first he cries but he soon stops when we start reading to him. We also have one of those fitted toilet seats so it makes it hard for him to get off. Persistance is the key. Don't give in. Good Luck!

Get a little stool that and place it in front of the toilet.
Let him stand up to go. Throw a few Cheerios into the toilet bowl
for target practice. Tell him to sink the Cheerios. It works!
Good Luck

I got my daughter the potty toilet that applauds electronically when she would go , and she loved to make it applaud so she would sometimes force pee out to hear it. Before she never wanted to use the potty u can find it at walmart.

Get the little fella one of those toilet trainers. It's just a smaller seat which fits over the top of your toilet.
Praise and reward him whenever he uses the trainer. He'll get the hint sooner or later

my little boy hated sitting on the potty so i used to hold it under his willy and say can you be a big boy like daddy and stand up and do a wee wee it worked every time and then it came as second nature and he used to hold it under himself in the end and i had no probs with him using the big toilet then
