Its about time my friends and I to take our yearly trip to the mountains. And the past couple of years I have purchased a bottle of Jack Daniels or Johnnie Walker Black Label to carry with me. But I am wanting to try something new this year. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am mainly talking about liquors, because I have a fairly expansive knowledge of beer. I am also lookin for something that will go well in cold weather and to relax after a day of snow skiing.

How about the old traditional hot rum toddy?

Peppermint Schnapps or Rumple Minz is good for a quick shot or to spike cocoa or something. Maybe Buttershots, too.
As for a good stiff drink, it's hard to beat Jack or JWB. But, you can try Bushmill's, Maker's Mark or Knob Creek on the whiskey side. Captain Morgan Reserve is pretty good for a rum.
Have a great trip!

Well, I was thinking a Brandy Alexander (my own rendition is vanilla ice cream, brandy, bailey's and a little nutmeg all blended together, but I don't think it is the original recipe), but it sounds like you want something a little less cumbersome. So, why not just stick with a good bottle of brandy? :)
Enjoy the mountains--I am jealous!! Oh, and hopefully you enjoy whatever bev AFTER skiing...

Rum. A brown rum, I like Meyers because it's kinda thick. You can also mix it with eggnog or just honey and tea.
