The real question regarding Global Warming is if man's pollution of the environment is enough to tip the scales of Mother Nature. Example: When Mt. Pinatubo erupted, it was estimated by scientists that it released approximately 1,000 times the CFC's than what was released during the history of mankind.
The earth will continue to warm and cool naturally. That's why we have global warming and cooling trends. The real concern is that man is tipping the scales just enough to upset the global environmental systems beyond point of recovery. This leads to rising sea levels, changes in climate, etc...
On a strict answer: no, no one will be able to stop global warming, as this is a natural cycle of the earth.
On a broader answer (assuming you mean man's contribution to global warming), no, that is not possible either. Everything that man uses pollutes. We will always use something, thus it will always pollute, thus we will not be able to eliminate man's contribution to global warming. However, by limiting our pollution, we may be able to not tip the scales so far out of balance that they cannot recover.

The correct question would be "Is there global warming?".
Seriously, it's a myth.
If the world were warming, it would be a good thing! Warmer climatic changes would increase the habitat range for every form of life on the planet by making available areas of land now covered by ice.
It would accelerate the evaporation of the oceans, and result in greater rainfall across the entire earth. Deserts would bloom.
The cloud cover would result in greater protection from the sun's harmful rays, and the increased moisture content of the atmosphere would cause plant life to thrive.
Increased plant life and rainfall means more food for herbivorous animals.
Too bad global warming is a scare scam, it would be wonderful if it were real.
We should encourage others to buy bigger cars, drive greater distances, buy natural gas appliances and barbecue more often.
If we all pitched in and contributed more to the global greenhouse effect, perhaps we could actually bring about these positive changes and improve life on planet earth.

No, I do not think in the short run that we are really capable of stopping Global Warming, but I think that we are capable of slowing it down so that the damage we have already inflicted does not become much greater.
However, if we improve today, then over a long period of time the earth can mend, the balance of gasses and stuff restored, etc.

Nope.
Global warming is not caused by man.
Think about it, Earth's temperatures were higher than today before the Industrial Revolution. That's just one example.

Yes, but it will take political will and intelligence, committment and a certain amount of sacrifice by the public. And unfortunately, history has shown that in order to get those it will take a major calamity . . . by which time it may be too late. So frankly, although we can, I'm not terribly optimistic that we will.

im no expert, but id have to say that they can. if we stop burning fossil fuels and stuff and clean up all the pollution the earth over the course of probably thousands of years will return to a balanced state like it was many years ago

Of course we are. All we need is a gradual change in the way we live. The changes we need should be made gradually so that it does not effect our economy. You have to remeber that changing the way we consume energy can be very expensive.
