I have a good ornament idea but I wouldn't recommend for children.

Last year I made sleighs out of Popsicle sicks. They also can be used as name tags for gifts.

I made one for each child in our combined families.

Here is a website that pretty much goes over the instructions.
They used paperclips for the blades, instead I used more Popsicle sticks turned upright.

My grandpa made these for us when we were kids and I used his design to make the new ones.

I made lollipop ornaments one year. You need:

- Styrofoam balls - 1 inch diameter
- wooden dowels - 6 inches long, 1/4" diameter
- Pretty material for the "wrapper" - i used christmas material,
but you can use whatever you want. Cut it into circles. I traced
the base of a coffee can.
- ribbon to match the material
- glue gun
- gold or silver embroidery floss and a needle

Insert a dowel into a styrofoam ball. Obviously, don't go all the way through the ball, just most of the way. Glue it into place.

Wrap a piece of material around the ball and tie it in place with a piece of ribbon

Cut a small piece of floss for the hanger, using the needle to put it through the material on top of the lollipop.

go out and see if you can find some small bird nests. At this time of the year with the leaves gone off the trees they're pretty easy to spot in bushes and shrubs. Give them a quick spray with bug spray and then make a batch of salt dough or use molding clay and make three or four little white eggs. Put them in the nest. These look really pretty in branches of a christmas tree.

If you can get Pin cons, lay down some news paper on the floor. On the paper spread out som glue, and glitter. Roll the Pin con in the glue, then the glitter. At the top of the pin con, add a little hot glue and attach a ribbon. then hang on your Christmas tree.

Get Shrinky-Dinks and trace pictures of family and pets. Be sure to punch a hold before you bake so you will have a hole for the hanger.
