It's been proven time and time again that the higher the IQ and education, the less the tolerance for religion.
Oh and "impossible" pious fraud may be something christians indulge in on a daily basis, but it's still fraud. Yeah "BS" is right...

I don't know if this statement has been really confirmed, but it makes sense. If you spend your time reading fiction and mythology, instead of objective information, you shouldn't be smarter.
Religion offers a very easy and simple way to explain life and the universe, without any need for research or study. It does not require proof or confirmation. Religious people, even without any education, can explain almost everything in the universe. It is very easy to understand, does not require much brain power and is colored with cute little stories.
Science can be dry and obviously very difficult, requiring deep understanding and hard work.
It is much easier to wrap it all up in a cute little bundle of mysticism and maybe, even make a little money out of it.
Atheists tend to spend they time investigating facts and reality and, therefore, are conditioned to use their brain for only rational thought. That should make a difference

I don't think it is a reflection of how smart they are but more of what they studied. Atheists are more likely to study science and the supporting fields.
Christians, especially Evangelicals, who might be just as intelligent, will stay away from science. Their overall scores on a test that has quite a bit of science will be lower.
So I don't think there really is a difference in intelligence, but a difference in culture and the way that intelligence is used.

haha i love how one guy comes out and says that hes a genious and a christian. your obviously not that smart, because since 3/4 americans are christian, even if athiests have a higher percentage of geniousness christians will still have more number wise. if i said that 99% of people werent geniouses, its stupid to be the one guy that comes up and says that he is a genious so that stat is wrong. haha i bet they didn't make you take any stats classes in college for your super genious degree.
