All right guys, heres the challenge, who ever gets all of the sentences gets 10 points! What you have to do is simple, below is a list of words, and all you have to do is put each word in a separate sentence...ok? There should be fifteen sentences when you are done!

heres the words:

-Amplitude
-Compression
-Rarefaction
-Wavelength
-Frequency
-Hertz
-Medium
-Lux
-Convex lens
-Concave lens
-Focal Point
-Electromagnetic spectrum
-ROYGBIV
-Reflection
-Refraction

GOOD LUCK!

This is not a homework assignment, I am a teacher at a middle school in Florida and I'm grading my students homework. I just wanted to see how many of them just copied their answers off the internet (ex. www.dictionary.com)

The amplitude of a wave is the maximum displacement of a particle from rest position by that wave.

The compression of a sound wave is a region where the air pressure is higher.

The rarefaction of a sound wave is a region where the air pressure is lower.

The wavelength of a wave is the distance between two points that are in phase.

The frequency of a wave is the inverse of the period of the wave's oscillations.

Hertz is the SI unit for wave frequency.

Medium is the media which light passes through.

Lux is the measure of light intensity of luminous things(like stars and lamps...etc)

Convex lens is a lens that has two outward-curved surfaces.

Concave lens is a lens that has two inward-curved surfaces.

Focal point is the point where all light rays shining through a convex lens is converged to a single point(provided the light rays are parallel to the principal axis of the lens)

The electromagnetic spectrum is the full spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation known to man, the highest frequency of this radiation with the shortest wavelength being gamma rays, and the lowest frequency of this radiation with the longest wavelength being radio waves.

ROYGBIV stands for the colours of the rainbow: R for Red, O Orange, Y Yellow, G Green, B Blue, I indigo and V Violet.

Reflection is the deflection of a light ray by a plane surface(no matter how small) according to the laws of reflection.

Refraction is the 'bending' of light when it passes from a less optically dense media to a denser media, or vice versa. This occurs due to the change of speed when light enters different media.

HOPE I DID WELL! :)

Aha, you're a teacher. Then I won't have to worry that I answered too technically. But truly speaking, I think I simplified the definitions quite sufficiently. (",)

Amplitude is a nonnegative scalar measure of a wave's magnitude of oscillation, that is, magnitude of the maximum disturbance in the medium during one wave cycle.

Physical compression is the result of the subjection of a material to compressive stress, resulting in reduction of volume.
Contents

Rarefaction is the reduction of a medium's density, or the opposite of compression.

The wavelength is the distance between repeating units of a wave pattern.

Frequency is the measurement of the number of times that a repeated event occurs per unit of time.

The hertz (symbol: Hz) is the SI unit of frequency.

How are you going to give 5 or 6 people 10 points? You can only give 1 person 10 points.

That is really smart of you to get people to give you stars in trade for 10 points. That is if you randomly select them.
