Everyone talks about what to do with their hair. What about all those people who suffer from a condition called Alopecia and under no fault of their own lose all of their hair? Sure, wigs help somewhat but I'm sure for the many that suffer with it, it's not the same as being able to style their own hair. They also have to live with the fear, anxiety and frustration that their spouses just might not be able to cope with it and leave them. For all of us who do have our own hair, we need to put ourselves in their shoes and know that it could happen to any one of us.

The question is just that...So many people are concerned about how they can style their hair or what color to dye it. The people that suffer with this condition do not have that luxury. Granted, some people do experience hair regrowth but there are some who will never see their own hair again. You know, using too much color treatment or mistreating your crowning glory can cause hair loss so please take that in to consideration when wondering what to do with your hair.

I am not asking the question for myself it's just that people take it for granted that they will always have their hair. You could wake up one morning and find a whole patch of hair missing and think of how you would feel then.

Sorry if this question is confusing to some. I've just been reading everyone else's questions about what to do with their hair and it prompted me to respond in this manner.

Well said... I understood what you meant. Thanks for being caring and compassionate. We have so much to grateful for... and yet we take so much for granted. Thanks for reminding us.
Be Blessed!

About a month or so ago I watched a tyra banks show where she took three teenage girls with that disease and gave them a pamper day where they got their make up done and got to experience the whole top model thing emphasizing that bald is beautiful etc. Anyway the girls said it was hard being different but they had accepted the fact that they were and for the most part embraced it. I'm sure it all depends on the people around them and it is hard for them but they just have to think its not their fault and they can't do anything about it. If their friends or significant others can't handle it then they know it wasn't meant to be. I wasn't sure what your question was but I figured I would just give a general comment on the subject.

I have a friend with Alopecia, she is fine with what god gave her. For everyone else their hair is a form of non-verbal communication. Beauty is in the mind. Its all ATTITUDE!
There was once a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had
only three hairs on her head. " Well," she said, " I think I'll braid my hair today." So she did, and
had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two
hairs on her head. "Hmmm," she said, " I think I'll part my hair down the middle today". So she did,
and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she only had one hair on the head.
" Well," she said, " Today I'm going to wear my hair on a pony tail." So she did and had a fun fun day.
The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there was not a single hair on her head.
"Yeah!" she exclaimed, " I don't have to fix my hair today."
OUR ATTITUDE IS EVERYTHING!

I understand your concern, but that seems like more of a complaint than a question.

they can do lots of things with their bald head that we can't like tattooing! I would love to tattoo my head, but I can't because I have hair, and if I do shave it, it'll just grow back, but no one feels sorry for me!
