Possibly Seasonal Affective Disorder? It causes depression in winter months.

Did anything bad or sad happen to you around the holidays when you were 5? That could be the cause.

Many reasons...a disappointment, a traumatic event, SAD, etc. There is so much hype and competition and what not ... perhaps you may just want to start by redefining what the holidays mean to you. Barring any deeply rooted emotional/physical trauma, take what is or is not special to you, tune out others' expectations, and look at your attributes and in what you find joy, peace, and serenity.

I think it's cause you feel lonely in holiday. Try to search new activities during holiday. or you can try to ask your friend to have vacation together during holiday.
You can also chat during holiday and meet a new friend around the world.

i get that way all so well for me my grandma died so that always upsetting for us and spending money it just seams depression
