After many weeks of meeting all the desirable timelines of accounting for the sales department the guy is summoned to the office where the hot neighbour is his direct boss and she says as Ive had all that you have to offer both in a domestic situation as well as a work situation I have to inform you we are replacing you and employing more women as I find they are less distracting.
You have 24 hrs notice and I am getting promoted higher up the directors are acceptable to what I have to offer both on or off the job. .

how did he "get to know" his beautiful neighbour? I think you need more of a climax because at the moment the story is lacking something. You cant make a story about a guy doing all the stuff you mentioned and end it so soon to him finding out she has a son,...but i guess its a short story so you could have it that the hot boss also has a hot sister who the guy ends up falling for

Depends on the style of the story you are writing.
If it is a 20th century style existential piece, he realizes that he is alone and that he can't escape his past cycle of having his hopes built up and crushed. However, she really doesn't have a son. It is something he actually made up in his mind to avoid having a intimate relationship with another person.
If it is a film noirsh mystery, he tries to take advantage of what he thinks is her vulnerability in being a single mother to embezzle funds. In a twist at the end, she is actually the one playing him and she takes the money and he gets sent to jail.
In a romantic comedy style, he always wanted a son but couldn't have one because of the farming accident. He decides this is the perfect start to a whole new chapter in his life, making coffee and giving feet rubs to the woman of his dreams.
In the horror movie style, the kid is actually affected by a demon who attached itself to the kid in a generational curse. The guy must now seek out the advice of an alcoholic ex priest and seminary professor to find an answer how to save the child and the mother.
In the sports dramedy style, he was a minor league pitcher who was injured and broke his arm in another tragic family drama. She gives him the courage to fulfill his dreams, and he starts working out again and makes it to the major leagues.
In slasher movie style, the guy seems like he has the perfect life. Until he finds out that the girls husband mysteriously disappeared. He starts to unravel her past and finds out that she had this dark childhood of horror at the hands of a local creepy ballet teacher. He tries to escape her but it seems more and more that she is trying to kill the guy. Finally, he runs into her home and finds out that really isn't her son, and in her closet, her previous husband has

okay ...........so he asked her out and she said i would rather gaouge my eyes out with a fork than go out with an imature employee then he went home and creid then wrote a hate letter then he went to her house with a fork and said heres ur fork bi*ch and then she killed her self right on the spot and he got thrown in jail for murder.......then he gets out because he found a loop whole in the law because it was for love and passion and he never loved again .................the f'n end!!!

umm..... ok, he goes out with her on a date, and eventually one thing leads to another and they are a couple....but as time goes on they realize they dont like each other as much as they first used to but they wont admit it.....and then her long lost husband appears in town....because in truth she was a single parent but she never actually divorced her husband she just moved away from him.....for the guy it was the final straw and he just goes on without her in his life...and it ends with them breaking up......it sucks but i didn't know what else to do............
