This is for a research paper that I am doing for an Anthropology course. I am aiming to acquire several viewpoints on Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jehovah's Witnesses agree with the bible view that abortion is murder.

(Exodus 21:22-23) And in case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed... 23 But if a fatal accident should occur, then you must give soul for soul

Jehovah's Witnesses believe that women have too often and for too long been discriminated against. They believe the bible's promises that this will end under God's Messianic Kingdom.

Jehovah's Witnesses base all their views from the Bible because it is inspired by Jehovah God Himself (read 2 Timothy 3:16,17)

1) Abortion = do not commit murder (Exodus 20:13). Anyone shedding man's blood will his own blood be shed for man is made in God's image (Genesis 9:6). This includes the shedding of unborn life.

2) Gender rolls = we are equal in God's eyes even though we are given different roles in the family (husband is the head & woman is her husband's supporter & helper)

3) other people's views of our faith = we expect people to not accept us because Jesus Christ was first persecuted (read John 15:20). Some people feel that we're odd because we don't participate in the holidays or political things.

abortion,

The principle found in the law was that if a person caused the death of an unborn child, that person was to pay, soul for soul.

Therefore we view abortion as murder.

Gender rolls, God created them male and female,
In 1 Cor. 6:9 What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, 10 nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit God’s kingdom. 11 And yet that is what some of YOU were. But YOU have been washed clean, but YOU have been sanctified, but YOU have been declared righteous in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.

Even though people may "start out" in reverse rolls, they can change.

Other people views, everyone has a right to their own opinions. We don't force anyone to become a J.W. that is their choice.

Jesus said true christians would be hated on account of his name.

So it comes with being a christian.

Regarding gender roles, one of our very latest Watchtowers (I believe it's one of the January issues) addresses that topic. Ask the next Witness to come to your door for a copy.
