Go Air Force...best food, quarters, and treatment...and usually you have plenty of time off to study courses through the Community College of the Air Force to get a step ahead of going to school after discharge.

which one pays for college? Both

which one requires a lot of travel? Navy more than the Air Force but you could have to travel extensively with either

Both will pay for college -- either in-service or through the GI Bill when you get out.

Both will possibly require travel, sometimes extensively. If you're assigned aboard ship in the Navy you'll spend much more time away from home than if assigned a shore billet. That said, everyone pulls sea duty at one time or another and many rates ONLY pull sea duty for most of a career.

They're both excellent services; the final choice is up to you.

both pay for college although Air Force does that better and travel well the Navy has just begun new rules and regs for ship travel....some of the ranks can be at sea for a much longer time than ever before........go with what offers YOU the best job training and how much that will serve you when you come out the forces.

For military educational opportunities check this website: http://www.voled.doded.mil/voled_web/voledhome.asp and then click on DANTES.

As for Navy or Air Force. Both services sleep with clean sheets (as opposed to the Army and Marines)... promotions are faster in the Navy, but the Air Force values families much more. It depends on what you are looking for. But, please remember that a military career is not what it used to be. The security of a full career is not there anymore. Also, don't believe everything the recruiters tell you - they're trained to try to talk you into joining! ...and, Prez Bush is still looking for a few good men (& women) to send to Iraq. Good Luck in your decision.

First, it doesn't matter what service you go in to, the benefits are the same for everyone. Navy travels more than Air Force.

both pay for college through the GI bill. i know that the air force will help you toward various degrees while still on active duty while still saving your GI bill for after you get out.

the navy has more opportunities for travel if you like living aboard ship. in the air force you should expect to move every 1.5 - 3 years.

I know that army pays for college. My cousin is training for the air force, and I think his college education was payed for, too. Even the marines I'm sure are payed for.

Air Force, you get to fly yourself, so I'd do air force if anything.

I am Active Duty Navy, and they're giving me Tuition Assistance (TA). They're paying up to a certain amount of money (not sure of the exact amount) per credit hour. All you have to do is pay for your school book.

I'm currently working toward an associates degree with two classes left to go. I am currently enrolled and have taken three classes prior to this one. The rest of my degree came from credits I earned off of my SMART Transcript. The ACE (American Council on Education) recommends college credits for my military experience.

Air force is the only branch with 100% collage tuition also we have our own Community collage so that you job can count as credits and you will all ways have access to school overseas in Germany or even Iraq. Talk to both recruiters and also talk to people who are in each service it is a long commitment even if only 4 years be careful
