I personally do not like it. For those of you who wanted me to respond. My dad did it when I was a baby, and it led to other things. Yeah it cures sickness and makes peoples pain go away, but for some reason I want nothing to do with nor do I want the people i love to have anyhting to do with it.

The question of the marijuana laws has been addressed by numerous major government commissions over the years. In order to understand why it is illegal, I recommend you read the short history of the marijuana laws at http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm

See also "Why marijuana was outlawed" at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/library/mj_outlawed.htm

In short, it was outlawed for two major reasons. In the southwestern states it was outlawed because of racial prejudice against Mexican immigrants. In the northeastern states it was outlawed because of the fear that heroin addiction would lead to the use of marijuana -- exactly the opposite of the modern "gateway" myth.

Every major government commission report on the laws in the last 100 years has concluded that the marijuana laws were the result of ignorance and nonsense. They all found that there was no justification for making marijuana illegal and that the prohibition laws do more harm than good. You can find summaries of their conclusions, with links to the full text of the studies, at http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/Library/studies/studies.htm

Marijuana should be legal. When you smoke pot even for the first time you dont get as screwed up as you do when you are drunk. If we can run around poisoning our livers then why not our lungs too. Most things we have been told about pot are lies. Just look at the 50's and 60's when they said it would make you go crazy and kill people what a load of crap that was. I smoked pot as a teenager and I'll tell ya what if every alcoholic was a stoner we would have a lot less deaths from idiots driving all messed up and a lot less domestic violence. Pot mellows you out while alcohol gets your all wound up. Im not saying people should smoke pot but between pot and alcohol pot is the less of the two evils. When you are high you are happy and lazy, which is better than drunk and beligerent anyday! I may not smoke anymore but I dont think badly of those who do everyone has to unwind somehow.

Id like to add anyone who has never tried it has no right to have an opinion. And by the way it doesnt really kill brain cells find a legit research site on pot it will tell you the facts not the crap the government crams down your throat to try to scare you away from using it. Alcohol on the other hand DOES kill brain cells.

In my opinion, its all up to the user. It is good, and it is bad. I personally have tried it, and I didn't think it was all that wonderful. I only used for a couple months before deciding it wasn't worth my money. I dont recommend it being open to anybody as some people can over-use, and it does slightly impare judgement especially for first time users. Making it legal would almost make all hell break loose at first. But if we survived the legalization, I'm sure after a while it wouldn't be so bad..

Marijuana, like everything in creation, is good and has its proper place. It should definitely be legalized, not for the purpose of getting high but rather for its numerous medical uses.....preventing certain chemotherapy side effects, treating some cancers, stimulating appetite in people who would otherwise starve (I have a friend who was saved by marijuana), medication-resistant debilitating migraines, glaucoma, and the list goes on.

Absolutely yes, marijuana should be legalized. I don't use it myself but I think we're crazy to not make use of the legitimate benefits provided by its responsible use.

It should be legal it has the medical advantage of helping patients with cancer that go through chemo and AIDS and HIV patients.
One more good point I have never heard of a person having an overdose due to Mary Jane....
Overdoses on everything else under the sun even alcohol which is LEGAL>>>Give me a break the gov't needs to get a grasp on reality and legalize marijuana..

An ex partner I was with mother s died of cancer, she came over to visit us for a last visit at christmas, she was in so much pain it was heartbreaking, so I phoned a friend whom I know smoked it and they came over rolled one up and I gave it to her, after about 15Min's she relaxed smiled laughed a little and did a little dance with her son, so I totally believe that it should be available for pain relief, as for smoking it in a general sense I still am unsure what I think, I have seen some people behave just fine after smoking and some who have gone a little off the wall it definitely relaxes you so driving can be hindered reflexes are slower. Good ??? though

Legalized but with restrictions. Age limits, amount in system limits, no use in public, driving under the influence and that sort of thing.

Part of what makes it so popular is the black market effect and that you can't have it.

Personally, I have never tried it nor have any desire to. My life is just good the way it is now, has it's ups and downs, but I manage.

It is a destructive depressant dug. This nonsense about the possibilities of using hemp to make clothes and paper and whatever else is a bunch of crap. 99.999% of it is smoked to the point of removing any logical thought from people.
It makes a person lazy and stupid. What's worse is that they no longer care that they have become lazy and stupid.
Sure, all things in moderation, but I've yet to meet someone who has successfully moderated it.

I don't have a problem with the drug. If you want it, okay. I am allergic to it. I have not smoked it, but when I went to Europe, guys would pass me who were smoking it and I would puff up like a puffer fish and not be able to breath for about a minute. Fun. Can't say I want to try that particular drug.
