This is common in kittens that came from shelters or who were taken from the mother too soon. It sometimes signals the beginning of an upper respiratory infection. The vet has stuff that is meant for kitten's eyes to nip it in the bud. It might be worth the call.
Those eyes have to last a lifetime. Don't go putting anything in there that could damage them.

kittens need to see vets early. runny, boogered eyes are caused by some of the many little things kittens are susceptible to getting. take to vets for treatment--get a stool sample before you go so the various parasites kittens get can be cured, also.
healthy kittens do not hae runny eyes.

Take her to the vet. Like lovemycat says, eyes are too precious to be messed around with. Hope your kitty gets better. Good luck!

this actually happens to a lot of cats. nothing to worry about. she just has an eye infection. when this happened to my cat, the vet gave us prednisone and opthamalic drops. in the meantime, you can wipe it with a warm cloth. hope this helps.
