We live in Ohio and have our money saved up for this trip. I want to just fly there instead of having to worry about driving. My friend says plane travel is not safe and says we should drive. If we drive it will take us longer to get there and I'll have to take more days off from work. She has never flown on an airplane. I haven't either but I'm not scared. I'm actually excited. How can I tell her it's safe?

I am an Air Traffic Controller and have also taken flying lessons. I talk to hundreds of aircraft a week.... I see many more accidents on the highway than I do on the runway.

However,
I can understand her fear and hope she's willing to work thru it.

I'm scared of heights, but my husband really wanted to zip-line at 65 feet above a lake in Mexico. I was terrified! But after an hour hike thru the jungle and no turning back I did it. Screamed most of the way, but afterward I felt super...like I overcame!!!
If she's contemplating the flight maybe have her try light sedation...like Tylenol PM or a prescription Valium.

Las Vegas is alot of fun...have a great time!! :)

planes are safe. there is an incident once in a while but when u consider the odds u are about 50 times as likely to get in a car accident than a plane crash. as for being scared tell your friend to read a book, sleep, watch a movie, or if she wants order a drink inflight. take it from me, im a pilot, that will always do the trick

i've got been obtainable a pair of circumstances (and wide-unfold many US women at my college) and that i'm unlikely to lie, the English accessory is going down properly. fairly in case you play it particularly 'Hugh furnish'-esque. That suggested, all of it does look somewhat too suited - going to Las Vegas, picking up a pair of appealing women human beings (on a similar time you mean?)... hmm.. If he's powerful looking and he's no longer suggesting they have been the two at as quickly as... then i'd say it particularly is achieveable. If he's normally happening looking or suggesting a three-some, he's in all hazard mendacity.

Airline travel is a LOT safer than driving. I bet you know a lot of people who have been in car accidents, and some of them might even have been pretty badly hurt, but you probably don't know anyone who's been in a plane crash. That arguement usually works with people I know!
