I dont think so, not intentionally. they dont understand the concept of suicide. I mean, dogs run out in front of cars on an accident. I have never seen a dog purposely wait in the middle of the road waiting for a car to come.
then again there was one person on here
their dog eats "dayquil, nightquil, actafed, antibiotics, plastic, lead (pencil), ink, sharpes"
owner admitted to "putting him outside, putting him in our tiny bathroom, putting him in his cage, shoving what he chews on down his thorat" and the dog won't quit
either he's suicidal or his owner is trying to kill him.

I think and would hope that is only a human thing and something that takes a sick human as well, animals can be depressed but I dont think they have the knowledge to end thier own lives other than just giving up the will to live

Dogs dont have the concept of suicide in their language. Humans are the only species with vanity and selfishness that enables taking ones own life.
Dogs are pack animals and their goal is to please their pack leaders, eat, breed, and sleep. A pure and simple existence.

I've always thought that dogs are pretty "right now in the moment", so I don't think they have a concept of "ending it all".
If they did, we'd probably see a lot more abused pets taking thier own lives...don't you think?
Of course they can do dumb things or make mistakes just like people and accidentally kill themselves...

well... i guess if the dog was smart enough. well i mean he could swallow his food without chewing... open the oven after turning it on 700 degrees... stuffing himself in the trash bag when you're not looking... or just sit in the middle of the road. He could stuff his head in the toilet and drown himself. Alot, man

never heard of a dog but my aunt had a cat who got in a car accident and lost one of her legs. She got reallt depressed and no joke, would hunt down ant beds, paw them open and lay in them.

i really doubt there is such a thing...
i know they dont live in the past or the futur...so it would be weird if they think about the futur/ suicide...

I don't think it would be "technically" suicide, but I have heard of dogs just dying "of loneliness" after a member of their "pack" (ie your family) dies...
