The biggest difference is that catholics believe in the virgin mary as a god. because Jesus is God, catholics believe Mary must have been a god as well, thus Jesus would be 100% God. however, the Bible makes no claims for mary being a god. Jesus was 100% God and 100% man.

i could say the adjustments at present between Catholics and Protestants are minimum. the two have faith interior the Nicene Creed because of the fact the middle doctrine of their faith. Catholicism does have a pair non-biblical doctrines that have progressed via custom, that are perception in purgatory and praying to Mary and the saints. Many Protestants could say that those doctrines positioned Catholicism interior the "cult" classification, yet i could disagree. Catholics are nevertheless Christians and carry the Bible as an infallible authority. Their enormous mistake over the centuries has been to place the ideals of the pope and custom on an identical point as scripture, that's the place they have progressed those non-biblical doctrines.

Catholics are a part of Christianity. 'Christ'ianity is the belief of Christ as God. Over the years stemming from as early as 1054, there has been schisms (splits) in the church and other forms have been created ie; Greek and Russian Orthodox, Lutherans, Anglicans, Baptists etc...
Are you really an atheist? That is the belief in NO upper power. There are other options such as deist (a higher being created the universe and is no longer interacting with it's creation) The 'clock maker' God.

Catholics are Christians, so are Baptists, Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcapalians etc......they are different sects of Christianity. Catholocism is probably the oldest organized Christian based religion and the others either slpit off from the Catholic Church or organized years later.

It's the same. Catholics are Christians. The first Christians believed what the Catholic Church still teaches today.

I think you meant to ask "what is the difference between Catholic and Protestant?".

Here is an excellent link for that:

There is no difference. They do not focus on Mary over GOD or Jesus. They prey to Mary and the Saints as well, for intervention and guidance.

They are one religion which is Christanity, but Catholics instead of focusing praise on God and Jesus, praises Mary. But Catholics are christians also, just different beliefs such as a Baptist would have.
