Yes.
To obtain my taser certification so I could carry one for my department.
It hurt like hell for five seconds, then it was gone. I was immediately able to move and function again, but the memory doesn't fade quite as fast.

I have not personally, but my darling hubby, a sheriff's deputy, has. Yes, in tazer training, some agencies do require that the trainees be shot with a tazer gun. My dh says that it hurts like h**l. It cramps all of your muscles so much that you are unable to move. When the 'tazer' is released, the body goes back to normal but the muscles are sore and feel as though you just went through a major workout. When shot with a tazer gun, 2 wires are shot at the 'subject' with barbs at the end of each, which look similar to a fishing hook... these embed into the skin and the wires deliver 100,000 volts at 19 shocks per second. 'Full ride' of the tazer is 5 seconds, but these can be delivered over and over until the wires either break, fall loose of the skin, or preferably the subject complies. However, even without the wires and barbs, if a tazer gun is held 2 inches or closer to a subject, they will still receive the same voltage shocks, however, without the barbs and wires it will actually leave 2 small burn marks on the skin.

I work in the court and work next to a Police Dept. I have listened to officers explaining how the tazer works and all of the officers in our local dept. have to undergo a "tazing" as part of their training. They all say it is not any fun at all! I've also read some of the police reports where certain people have been tazed. Every person is completely incapacitated.

A police officer showed me how his taser works. He can either hold it directly on a person and shock them, or have it shoot hooks into a person from about up to 15 ft away. It incapacitates them completely.
Some police academies taze people, some don't. Locally ours does not.

Yep...got shot in the back from 12 feet by 2 darts. It dropped me like a hot potato. After 5 seconds, the fight was on. I was ready to kick some butt. Then I remembered, it was training and my partner had the pleasure of shooting me. Interesting note here, a civilian version of the X26 is coming out that shocks you for a full minute. Ours only gets you for 5 seconds. Trial lawyers are already lining up for that one.

Yes. My cousin is a Passaic County cop. He tazed me with a hand tazer not the gun one. I still have a scar from my stupid decision. NEVER volunteer to get tazed, do it only if your running from the cops. lol

In the police Academy if you are going to spray people with pepper spray or taser you need to know how it feels. Yes I have been tased, sprayed and shot at with non-lethal rounds and it ain't fun.

Nope and I don't want to be tasered either.
So I guess I'm not gonna be a cop for sure.

Yes, he hurts like everything, we had one supervisor that could actually stand though one shot of it.
and yes if you are to be certified to carry one, you are shot with one to know what it feels like.
But it was not near as bad as being sprayed with mace.
