first of all

CONGRATS........ that is the toughest thing to do

I quit 2 years ago...... it is still tough sometimes...... usually I just take a long deep breath and then another.... after a couple of times the cravings are over

after about a year, I started having smokes in my sleep..... weirdest dreams that's for sure..... I even woke up once and almost started again cause I thought I had actually cheated

congrats again...... I don't regret quitting at all

Here's how I did it (one month, no smokes!). I broke my leg in several places and subsequently spent a week in the hospital for surgery and recovery. During that time I was unable to leave my bed, therefore I chewed Nicorette 2mg Fruit Chill gum (it actually tastes pretty good). Soon after I was released, I broke out a cigarette and lit up. Truthfully, it tasted like ****. So I decided to chew the gum whenever I had a craving. Now I find myself chewing the gum less and less and having less cravings. Last time I quit (cold turkey and it didn't last long), I developed a horrible attitude during those first few weeks, but this time it was a lot easier. Now I'm not telling you to go out there, get really wasted (Jager), and fall off a third story balcony like I did; but the gum really did help and I would recommend it to anyone. Give it a shot. Best of Luck!!!

Cigarette smoking burns about 300 calories a day.

That is 1 pound about every 10 days.

Not only do you need to really watch what you eat, you need to drink more water and exercise too.

For those really bad cravings, try jumping jacks or some other form of physical exertion. Will take your mind off the cig and drop a few calories too.

Congratulations and hang in there, it gets better and better.

You have to find something you want more the smoking. Once you have found it then when the craving comes think of that. After 3 days the addiction is over and the rest is a mind game.
GOOD LUCK

i would say chew gum and if you need to eat to get rid of your craving try veggie sticks or something healthy. I'm trying to quit myself and it hasn't been easy, things in my life are so stressful right now. i saw a TV commercial where this guy stops traffic and sings a song with a big hold in his neck about smoking and it freaked me out. have you seen that one? one of the sayings in his song is " Tobacco don't always kill you, sometimes they just snip out your tong" look it up on the Internet if you haven't seen it, it might keep you from giving into the cravings.

The cravings typically only last 15 minutes. Once you get through them you ar egood until the next one. When you experience a craving, try to have something handy to play with. Draw, eat suckers. Hard candy is not fattening.
