I'll say this much, there will always be structures and structures that need repair/modification and they will always be wherever you are. Electrical infrastructure is one thing that will be around for a long time, but electrical design and electronics design are getting offshored big time. In the 70's thru early 80s my part of the country was huge in defense contracts, then a downturn and tons of EEs out of work. Then telecom boomed and they became "valuable assets" due to the "shortage". Then telecom busted and EEs were on the street again and the recovering is slow in coming. Nanotech is supposed to be the next big thing around here, who knows when it will bust

It's completely up to you.
Consider that when you choose a career, you will be spending the vast majority of your waking hours performing the tasks involved - which aspect of engineering do you find more interesting? Which type projects, once completed, would give you more satisfaction?
Depending on the project, both electrical and structural engineers will usually work closely together on any particular project. The two aspects are closely entwined in the finished project.

Old saying goes - Electrical engineers build weapons; Structural engineers build targets.
But don't ask me; I went with Construction Management.
