A toy kitchen is a great present. If you do that make sure to get one oriented for older kids. Kidcraft's toy kitchen is great, but it's big. If you have the space it would be fun. What the best present is only you will know, knowing your daughter, but four is a fun age and there are lots of cool things. Dolls are good, wood blocks are great and have a wide age appeal, a dollhouse would be fun, maybe the Calico Critters one. Books are always fun, and she's getting to be old enough for kid-oriented board games. My little girl loves Sequence, Jr. Musical instruments like drums and maracas can be fun, too.

A nice LARGE cardboard box she can color on or use as a playhouse, put dress up stuff from the dollar store or on sale halloween costumes. Cheap big girl makeup, beads, braclets, shoes and stuff she can play with. That's what my 3.5 year old is getting. I spent about 40 bucks.
