I'm posing this question from an entirely objective standpoint. I'm not looking for answers that bash Jehovah's Witnesses or other religions, just an honest-hearted opinion and why you think so.

So it appears the majority do not think JWs have the true religion and the main argument is their Bible. That they have changed the original Bible to suit their beliefs?

They are the only religion from my standpoint where if you go to the magazine study in one country on a sunday and go to another country on the same day, it's in sync. That has to be divine intervention.
Some of my friends are. They always give me good advice and care about all races.

They put up a kingdom hall in my town in like 2 months flat. Why cant the government help new orleans like this?
In my eyes they seem to strive for the good of mankind. And it seems like whenever someone does convert, they clean up their lives, seem happier. That proves to me it cant be all that bad.

I've studied some with a JW. They are very convincing. It is so convincing that I can't tell if the church I went to that says they are the only true church has the truth or the JW's. Just about every time I think I may prove a JW wrong they have an answer that seems to prove them right. I just can't tell for sure. Because everyone else is convinced that the JW's are a cult. I don't want to join a cult. But they do a lot the others don't do. Like going door to door to publish the good news. They seem to care about souls more than other people. But having known the other people all my life and being taught as I have doctrines that the JW's say are false , it is hard to know who to believe.
If you ask me, the JW's seem to be trying harder to help people out of the ditch, while everyone else is busy going about his own business.
Hopefully eventually , it will become easier to tell what the truth actually is.

For a right Christ like people at the coming of Jesus to take over earth for his kingdom.

Jesus begans with these to cleanse the kingdom in seeking those that qualify, John 12:47,48; Heb.4:12;
The word of God is so very important, he has got to have people that care, there is no room for any thing else, people that love his word and that love to teach his word, and produce more people that qualify.
The kingdom will be made up of people from every, nation, people and tongue around the world and they must be one in unity, in harmony and a very special kind of peaceful honest-hearted people as the holy prophets, the holy apostles, the holy angels and the interested disciples have been.
Study and education for people is a must.
Jesus truely will start with a special kind of people that have done as good as possible in this world filled with sin and many multitudes of activities that when you have Christ on your mind Philip.2:5,9-12 putting first what he would put first even when you are in sins, until he can make you as perfect as you need to be is what he knows you are and have always been striving for.
If the bible missed anything in telling any body about the worst of the worst, all we have to do is look around us and it will be there to be all you do not want to hear, but have to deal with as the things God has had to deal with down through the bible.
You have to wonder if Sodom and Gomorrah, given another chance, might show more respect to the right of any person, or may uphold laws of God and land.
Also, the land pirates from times of Abraham. Who's property did they think they were on?
If Abraham knew they did know as well. They just did not do right by the ones they knew to be a relative from Noah.
We are almost to imperfect to examine what perfect is. Our very best is poor.
Gal.5:19-23; The fruits of the spirit must be desired.

The Bible states many will come on the basis of Jesus' name, but jesus says their prayers will not be heard. Why? because they are not doing what he said to do. These are people praying which means they have a religion, they worship only the way they wish to worship. How many christian sects are their? over 2500!
Jesus also prophesied that in the last days his true followers( meaning those following truth) or one line of thought, not many beliefs. They would be objects of hatred and be mistreated in all parts of the earth. It would have to be group of people or an organized group following the same belief system because they are being hated for what they believe.
Is the religion you follow hated or despised by many all over the world? in every country? If not you should restudy your reason for choosing a religion. This is a key point for identifying the true religion
Are you in a religion just for the social network? or because they help you pay your light bill or rent? Remember all religions are not different roads leading to the same place, Jesus taught exactly the opposite. Matt 7:14-21...

and who else can be counted as a global religion that the majority despises...Even as I write this, in many countries right now, Jehovahs Witnesses are imprisoned, beaten and torn from their jobs and families, by local governments. You wont see that happening in your local four square church or for being catholic.

A Jehovahs` Witness

Actually, Jehovah's Witnesses *ARE* the true religion.

Their belief system was almost entirely fully-formed before work ever even began on the New World Translation. There are more than 130 million copies of this modern-language bible in print, in dozens of languages.
http://watchtower.org/languages.htm

The entire text of NWT is freely available at the official website of Jehovah's Witnesses, and a personal printed copy can be requested at no charge:
http://watchtower.org/bible/
https://watch002.securesites.net/contact/submit.htm
http://watchtower.org/how_to_contact_us.htm

Jehovah's Witnesses certainly like NWT, but they are happy to use any translation which an interested person may prefer, and in fact Jehovah's Witnesses themselves distribute other translations besides NWT. Jehovah's Witnesses attach no particular infallibility or inspiration to NWT.

Since the same manuscripts used by the NWT translators are still widely available for study, and since there are dozens of alternate translations for comparison, anyone who chooses to use NWT does so informedly.

It seems that the vast majority of the criticism against the New World Translation is actually as a proxy for blind hatred against Jehovah's Witnesses. The hatred must be "blind" since secular experts of biblical Hebrew and Greek have consistently refused to condemn any particular verse or phrase as an unacceptable translation. Instead, it is religionists with preconceived theologies who bigotedly insist upon particular wordings, since these are necessary to prop up the shakey tenets of their false worship.

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Jehovah Witnesses did not change the bible. many of king james bible took out the name Jehovah. if you compare the two bibles, the one we use and the king james you will see that they are the same. in the king james bible we don't talk like that. our bible is the way we talk. read ps 83 verse 18. we will always show you in your bible the same thing that our bible has. www.watchtower.org. we do what Jesus Christ commanded at Matthew 28 verse 19 and 20. please visit a Kingdom Hall and see for yourselfs. the doors are always open. everyone is welcome and we don't hold anyone if you are not interested. we are not a cult either. you can go any place in the 235 lands and see we are all doing the samething. same books and same watchtower study.

I'm not a JW, and I know several, so I'm not bashing them.

One way to look at it maybe is that they as a whole (the church) shun or disassociate those that fail to 'measure up' to their beliefs. Only the elders may speak to them, or council them. Also, JW's fully believe that the 144,000, will be JW's.

There are other things such as how they interpret the Bible, but until we learn it ourselves, we're all guilty of that. That's a given after seeing some things here in the short time I've been on R&S.

What if they are? I can't answer that, because I honestly don't believe it. Rev 7:4 says in the NKJV----"And I heard the number of those who were sealed, one hundred forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the people of Israel"---not JW's.

Consider this, three equals perfection:

The Jews, a small group compared to the world around them, were the first to be considered God's Beloved People, but they soon showed their lack of faith by returning to their old ways and creating a graven symbol to represent God at the foot of Mount Sinai so that they may pray it something solid and tangible. As time passed, they repeated fell away from God, until finally, as predicted, they fell away complete when they would not accept Christ as the Messiah because he did bring on Armageddon. Despite the fact that the prophesies of his presence were fulfilled.

Christians, a small group of people compared to the world around them, or even to the Jews, became the second of God's Beloved People or New Israelites, but they soon showed their lack of faith as they began returning too their old way and celebrations, and creating a graven symbol to represent him, something solid and tangible to pray to. As time passed, they repeated fell away from God, until finally, as predicted, they fell away complete when they would not accept the second presence of Christ because he did bring on Armageddon. Despite the fact that the prophesies of his presence have been were fulfilled.

Now, the question is who is the third small group, compared to the world or even Christendom as a whole, who best represents the final group who will squeeze through narrow gate into Paradise? It can't be the Jews as they have never accepted to coming of the Messiah, it can't be Christendom, because they repeat the same mistakes as the jews. So what small group, who has reverted to the old, more difficult ways of true worship?

Sorry JW's I also had a JW Bible as I studied with the JW"S for along time. THEY DID change the Bible have any JW show you in their bible John 1:12
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.....
The JW bible says In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was A god...... That little word (A) is what they use to hook in people at the door .They even have little books that instruct them on the answers to give if a certain question is proposed. They deny Christ is God's visible image.
