I have the same experience, and in some cases, very weird experiences of sleep paralysis (Imagine seeing someone right next to you and you can't even lift a finger!)

I wish I could tell you a sure fire cure, but what has helped me is leaving the TV on right when I go to sleep. For some reason, I don't experience any form of paralysis when ESPN is on.

Ok, I'm in the same boat with you. I don't get to sleep much, and due to this, I always want to take naps. If I do, I will get sleep paralysis that night.

Unlike most people, I can actually move quite a good distance during sleep paralysis, so moving a finger does not get me out of it.

I just try not to take naps try to and go to bed at the same time, and it helps out a lot. In fact, I had it last night. It wasn't so bad.

I leave the bathroom light on with the door partially closed.

I can give you a piece of advise which helps me get out of it... i find trying to move my thumb brings me out (i know it sounds strange). I have had it for a fair few years now and i cannot stress to people who have never experienced it just how scary it is, one time i felt my heart slowing down and i often think what would happen if i didnt try and fight it...
Hope this helps :)

I think I've heard of what you're experiencing. Try looking at what Stanford has to say about it: http://www.stanford.edu/~dement/paralysis.html
