I usually sing in my vocal lessons for about an hour, practice for about an hour, and I have chorus for an hour. I get the sore feeling almost every time. I'm 14... Am I doing something wrong, or is there something I can do?

It means that you are straining your voice. Ways to avoid this is to warm up your voice. Just like you would with exercising, our voice nedds to be warmed up. Do some vocal scales and gargel with salty warm water helps.

Once warmed up, your voice should be able to hit higher notes and won't be so strained.

Also you should be singing from your diaphram. If you sing from your throat, it will always be sore.

Shouldn't your vocal teacher be telling you this?
