Because of the area of the biblical days we know Jesus was not white. All the paintings you mean, are made by white artists. The truth is Jesus probably favored Bin ladin more than anyone (that's unfortunate), but probably true. But we will never know we were not here then. All we do know is what's in the Bible in Revalations somewhere skin the color or a copper penny, hair thick like wool, eyes were blood shot. Not white don't care how you interpret. but it doesn't matter cause love has no color so why should Jesus?!!!

None of the pictures are from His time. The Jewish people did not believe in depicting people. They were called graven images.
Jesus was atleast middle eastern in skin tone (light tan/olive/tan) and possible on the darker end because Bathsheba was Ethopian.
When the temple guards came to arrest Jesus they had to ask which of the people there was Jesus. THis implies that he looked like the others he was standing with. If he were blond haired, blue eyed and 6' ft. tall amoung people wiht black and brown hair brown and hazel eyes and 5'6" to 5'8" they would have recognized him.
Jesus also was able to trave around town unnoticed during a festival time and listen to what people were saying about him. Thisagain imples that he looked likke the average person in Israel at the time.

It would make a good question here at R&S if you ever saw the Real Jesus way back then would it have an effect on your religion today!
He probably looked a lot like Osama.
EVERYONE in that area is tan or brown skinned. The chanced that Jesus is "white white" is almost impossible. "Black black" is also highly unlikely, but Mexican, India or Arab tan, very strong probablity.
Chances he had blue eyes are virtually impossible.
Chances that he had light brown hair are very very low
Changes that he had totally straght hair is low, most people in that region have somewhat naturally gentle curl to their hair.

Someone is pulling your leg. They are teasing you. Jesus was born in the Middle East. He is of an olive type color of skin. Like a Light tan. On some photo's Jesus looks White, but for sure He is not Black. I would Love Him, no matter what color He is.

The pictures you speak of are images created by people later in life with the exception of few, but I think we are all different colors because that is the intention of God & Jesus as well, I believe he was neither black nor white.

I think he had a sort of olive colored skin, but so what if he was black? Maybe it would be good thing to have a black Jesus in the next Jesus movie.

LMAO!!!!
Come on. You cannot be this stupid.
Think of all the people who painted Jesus... those paintings are only a few centuries old, at most.
Given the location where Jesus allegedly lived, he certainly wasn't white. He was probably dark-skinned.

In truth, Jesus was from the Israelite nation and they were/are olive to tan skinned. Some people may not like that or they paint him the way they want to see him, BUT truth is truth. Example: I could take a picture of you. 100 yrs. go by, and someone paints a picture of you completely different colored than what you are. Did that rendering of you mean that's what you looked like? Of course not. And wanting to believe you were that color didn't make you that color. Again, truth is truth. Dark-skin begets dark-skin and light-skin begets light-skin.

One of the classic pictures of Jesus I have seen portrays him as European (of all things). Pictures are depictions made by artists, usually in the same culture from which they come. Jesus would have been Semitic, probably closer to how an Arab would look today, at least compared to a European. He wasn't black, but he wasn't quite white either.

because it is belived the people of that region over 2000 years ago would have had darker skin compared to the western european image people are most commonly familier with of jesus. Therefore jesus being from the middle east would have had the same skin colour as his compatriots
