I work in HR and conduct interviews and do a lot of hiring for a big company. Studies have shown that attractive people get paid better and get more promotions than unattractive people. With that said, I have never hired a person that was not the most qualified just because of their looks. I have hired several people that were overweight.
My suggestions to you are to dress professionally for your interview, get your hair done, and most importantly show confidence in yourself. If possible, wear dark colors such as black that will make you look slim. Obviously, don't wear white or horizontal stripes. I can't stress this enough, it is so important to believe in yourself and show the employer that you could care less if you are overweight because you know you are the best candidate for the job. When I am interviewing people, it is their self confidence that shines through the most, not their weight.
I have hired overweight people that are confident that they can get the job done over attractive people that seemed like they were BSing me or seemed nervous and apprehensive. Good luck!

I am a "plus-size" woman, and in my experience, yes, employers are less likely to hire overweight people. It is wrong and completely unfair, but it happens.
I find also that people think that overweight people are less intelligent and generally stupid.
It's amazing how assuming and unintelligent people can be.

no.. most employers dont care as long as you do a good job their happy because in the end its the profit not whether or not the skinny girl did it or not
and if you do feel you are being discriminated on because of anything like race religion or size then you can sue because it is illegal to be rejected for a position because of anything not directly connected to your skills and qualifications alone

hell yes its true, and why wouldnt it be? I am slighly rotund myself, but I was kinda fat (255) not too long ago...well I dropped about 40 lbs and while I might not qualify for the cover of mens health yet, I am sure going to give off a better vibe, that being I am not that much of a lack of self control slob...

It's proven in studies. It's also proven that taller people get paid more than their shorter counterparts on average. If you are fat, make sure that your clothes are well tailored and that you are well groomed. People can be heavy and still look good, clothes do make the man when pounding the pavement for a job.

It definately matters. It shouldn't, But it does. Fat people get discriminated against all the time. I know I was passed over for jobs because I was fat. But what can you do? You can't prove that was the reason why.

workout isn't very powerful at weight-loss until eventually you're pushing your self no longer common for a number of hours an afternoon. this would be a ingredient of the secret of the main important Loser television practice and why they are able to lose 8-20 lbs each and each week. once you're a teenager, try reducing on junk nutrients. pass soda or p.c.. eating recurring soda. p.c.. hen & fish & vegetables extra usually. p.c.. smaller quantities of starches like pasta, rice, potatoes & bread. Ask your mom to make salads for dinner (or lead them to your self and help her out!) bear in mind you're able to burn 3500 energy to lose a million pound. You did no longer say how plenty you weigh, yet discern a a hundred and fifty lb man or woman would burn 2 hundred energy in half-hour of swimming and it takes very nearly 3 weeks to lose a million pound. understand that it particularly is swimming laps for the entire half-hour or cheerleading for half-hour. no longer playing, waiting, conversing to acquaintances or doing something much less confusing. once you're doing much less artwork, you're burning much less energy.
