Personally I don't think age makes you an adult. It's your level of maturity and independence. If he/she is free loading and not trying to do anything with his or her time then yes charge em. But if this 18 year old is trying to better themself...go to college, hold down a job, etc., give em a while to get on their feet then if all else failss..........................

Well sure, my mom is going to. Also I will pay rent for the truck too. But I believe she is putting the money away in an account I can use when I want to buy my first house. Its what her mom did. But the rent wont be bad, nothing more than 350, and 100 for the truck.

Nooo. My mom made me pay rent, even though i dont even leave at home. I spent 5 out of 7 days at my bf. Well, i dont mind paying her because i know she needs help with paying rent. If you dont need money for rent dont make her pay. This is your daughter!!! Are u asking her to find her own space. Well, she will go with the first guy she meets. I dont think you want to lose your daughter. On the other hand, what is your case? Is your daugher one of those who is out of control, sleeps around, not responsible etc, if yes, then hell yeah make her pay. If she is not, be mom. She will pay you later with love and support and money if you will ever need it from her. Good luck.

If the 18 year old is a full time student then I would say no. But if the 18 year old isn't then I would say yes for sure.

If the 18 year old is not in school and has a job, then yes. Otherwise they'll stick around forever. They have to learn that life is not a free ride.

I would say if the teen is not attempting to do anything to show oyu she is trying to become responisbile than I would def. charge a rent. Howver, if he or she is attending school and is trying hard to prepare for adulthood I woudl wait for a few more years until he or she is out of school or has a steady job.

Yes, kids need to learn how to take care of themselves and paying your own way, even when you still live with Mom, doesn't give you a pass.
