i just found out that the girl i was going to ask to midwinter doesnt really want to go with me for fear of leading me on (found out from a mutual friend). we have been really good friends and do everything together and we talk all the time but she doesnt want anything more. shes not going with anyone else right now, but should i still ask her to go with me, even if it is just as friends?

If you guys are really good friends ask her as a friend and tell her you just want to go with her as you enjoy her company. If you really like her in a more than friend way and she only wants to be friends maybe find someone else to go with as I know its hard to be friends with someone you are in love with and they don't feel the same way

Yeah if neither one of you have dates then why not go with each other. She just doesnt want you to get the wrong idea that shes leading you on so make sure when you ask her you make it clear its just cause you 2 are good friends and so on. Good luck n have fun!!

Yes! If you see a friendship possible between the two of you, there is no reason you two shouldn't go to the dance together.
Just do everything you can to make it clear to her that you're not trying for anything more, or else she may feel uncomfortable.

Have fun!!! :)

If you do everything together and talk all the time, I would ask her if the mutual friend is correct. If so, then there is your answer, if not, then ask her to the dance.

I think you should. You never know after spending time out on a 'date' you both might realise you feel more for each other than you thought. But then again, maybe you should just talk to her about it.

Just explain, VERY clearly, that you have no intentions other than a fun time at the dance, as friends.
Explain you have no feelings for her any other way, so she shouldn't be scared. :)
