Really need serious answers.

Have been struggling with this fear/anxiety for years.

I become hysterical, and having a full blown panic attack, when confronted by a needle.

How can i get over this?. I realise this is a irrational fear/phobia.

I am in desperate need for help. any relaxation techniques?
and ways of coping around needles.

I know this probably won't help without therapy, but it worked for my kids to get rid of their "shot anxiety"..look away from the needle and the person with it, and stick your tongue out as far as it will go. Wiggle it from side to side & concentrate on making it go as fast as you can. Works as a distraction but again would recommend therapy or maybe watching others get shots or having their blood drawn. Good luck!!

well i was diagnosed with panic/anxiety attacks about a year ago. what you do is you talk about needles and stuff with your parents or someone often.. and look at pictures of needles online.. soon you will get used to it and you wont have the panic or fear anymore.

think about yourslf getting injecting with your favorite candy, or think of yourself floating. bring some type of music and listen during the injection. take deep breaths, in through the nose out through the mouth. bring a family member with you to hold onto. Good luck, this is what i do.
