If god is all-powerful and all-knowing and all that other stuff, why does he not know how to handle money?

For the people who don't understand. Whenever you go to church, the pastor (or whomever) always says stuff like, "God needs money so you should give Him money." It practically makes you feel like if you don't give money then God doesn't like you anymore.

He doesn't spend money. What do you mean?

You edited after I said this. Now I understand you are asking about tithe collection. I do think the church has it wrong. People should give and support the poor and church, but not the people who are poor.

First of all, God doesn't need money. He's the Creator of everything (everything good I mean). Everything belongs to Him. And when He asks us in the Bible to give our tithe, it is not because He "needs it". He wants us to be faithful and return a little of what already belongs to Him. We foolishly think that what we have, we earned and deserve. But everything we have, starting with our lives, is a gift by His grace and everlasting love. He wants us to be of a kind and giving soul. If you hear churches ask and ask and ask for money, it is because sadly, each day that passes by we give less and less. The money the church asks for (the offering) is used to support the church and help the gospel spread. If we were better givers, we wouldn't have this problem.

What do you mean by God handling money? Where does this come from...
EDIT:
My Pastor has never said that type of thing. Giving is between you and God; but as a responsible member of my church, I realize that we have bills to pay, just as I do at home.

Psalm 50:12
"If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all it contains.

Psalm 50:10-12
10 "For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills. 11 "I know every bird of the mountains, And everything that moves in the field is Mine. 12 "If I were hungry, I would not tell you; For the world is Mine, and all it contains.

Haggai 2:8 8 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' declares the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 3:8-12
8 "Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, 'How have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings.
9 "You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you!
10 "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
11 "Then I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of the ground; nor will your vine in the field cast its grapes," says the LORD of hosts.
12 "All the nations will call you blessed, for you shall be a delightful land," says the LORD of hosts.

The question in itself is odd; God is not in need of money - so there would be no need of handling something that you're not in need of.

It's like asking - "If God is all-Powerful and all-Knowing, why doesn't He know how to feed Himself?" What?!? God doesn't need to be fed! - He is above all that we are concerened with - and truly He is the Self-Sufficient Creator.

--
In regards to your new edit - we don't say that at all in our Mosques. However, I believe if a pastor would make such a statement, it would refer to giving money that God has encouraged you to give (to the community, poor, needy, etc) - and thus might phrase it in that way. As I said above, God Himself is above all need of that sort.

God being God would have to be perfect with money. But a lot of His accountants on the other hand obviously should be fired!

God only pays in spiritial matters, and leaves earthly matters to people. That money goes to building churchs keeping bishops and like wise in homes and food on there table. But sometimes it goes have too much money ie fancy robes golden crosses etc etc etc.

Why would God need money though? And how do you know that He doesn't know how to handle it? He made it exsist after all.

He gives/provides, you spend for your needs/wants. As you do this, because things are rarely free, he takes the money away because you have to pay for what you have. He knows how to handle the money he provides for you. He trusts you to know how to use it.
