Italy closed down the last of its 4 nuclear reactors in 1990, but they had nuclear power as early as 1964.

These power plants could have produced material for a nuclear weapon, but it is highly unlikely that Italy did so.

So Italy almost certainly does not have nuclear weapons.

If they do they're probably NATO nukes or nukes at US bases there.

No, but as members of NATO they are technically protected by those of other NATO nations that have them (US, UK and France).
