I agree talk to your vet first. I use holistic food from Wellness, pricey but worth it for my two Great Danes. Wellness holistic has all natural human grade ingredients, balanced vitamins and minerals, few ingredients, no by-products or grain meals. BARF is very time consuming, and generally thought not to make much of a difference. It also can be shocking to the system for a dog thats used to kibble.

Go to http://www.rawdogranch.com and check out the raw diet there.
I had my dogs on a raw diet for a few months and they did great but it is an ordeal to maintain it properly, feeding the dog the right balance. Check with your Vet about any particular supplements for Huskies. Sometimes they have trouble with Zinc deficiencies and they don't need Vitamin C.
If you decide it is easier to go with a commercial diet there are some good foods out there. I recommend Nature's Recipe Venison and Rice which is a quality brand and the Venison is a type of meat that is easier on stomachs than other foods for some dogs like Huskies and Shepherds.
I believe Dick Van Patten has a good Venison dog food too, also very high quality.
Don't feed your dog COOKED bones because they are splinter and can damage a dog. I'd also avoid rawhides which are sometimes preserved with formaldehyde.
Hooves stink but make good chews. So do "Kongs" and Nylabone has a product called the "Gallileo Bone" that is good.

I have no experience with this, but my favorite trainer/behavioralist/breeder recommends the BARF diet for his dogs. Check it out here: http://www.leerburg.com/feedingdogs.htm
Personally, I feed a holistic diet of Artemis Fresh Mix Small Breed Adult. http://www.artemiscompany.com

Google Barf diets or uncooked feeding for canines - there's a large variety of sturdy information on line re ratios of bone, muscle meat, organs, etc. A rule of thumb is two% to 3% of the person's bodyweight, with a nursing lady and puppies that rule does not carry on with. additionally, bypass to the B-Naturals internet site and scroll right down to uncooked diets, it provides a solid evaluate of muscle meat (protein source), organs, etc. and recipes for novices. solid luck.

I think you might want to check with your local vet before giving the dogs a whole new diet. One mistake could lead to two sick Huskies.
