I wouldn't be embarrassed. Especially since you play a rough sport, not many people can handle that. Show off your bruise with pride! Yay for battle wounds?

It might be embarassing now, but give it time... it will seem funny in a few years (or maybe even days). If you can laugh at yourself, other people will feel more comfortable joining in, and it will help you feel less embarassed. Just explain what happened and acknowledge the humour in the situation.

It is always awkward when someone is being defensive about something that seems funny to everyone else; put yourself in their position and let them have a laugh - without feeling like they are injuring your sense of dignity.

I can understand your feeling because it's prom and I know that's a huge night, but it really could have been a lot worse...like a piece of your dress was missing or your date ditched you. You can probably touch up the photos if need be.

Yes I could see why it would be embarrassing but I wonder why no one through out the night had questioned it? You'd think that if it was that bad someone would have commented on the bruise.

Can you get the studio to airbrush them out, or is it too late? Say you were helping an old lady across the street and got tagged by a car.

Scan in the picture and Photoshop it out. I do this for a living - send me the file if you want.
