im in the process of getting over my x...its been 5 months since iv last seen him or talk to him...i still think about him and would do anything for him...is it possible to not EVER get over someone? hes everything i want his looks, personality, EVERYTHING and i try dating around but i cant move on or find any other guy that interests me because its not HIM!

Yes, but that doesn't mean you have to remain in love with them. You can always have love for one person but move on to fall in love with someone else.

I think almost everyone has been in this position at least once. I know it hurts. It's hard when it's someone you really want. What's worse is you feel like no one understands, and what's even worse is that whoever you try to get to know, it still
won't be him!
I know you won't believe me, but eventually you probably will move on.I don't know if it's possible to never get over someone-maybe some people do go through it, but a lot of people also find someone else as well. It takes time to heal, though. You just have to find someone nice who loves you as much as you love them and then you will be fine.
I would take it really slow, if I were you. Spend more time with friends or family. Take up a hobby. It sounds like you are not quite ready to move on and date others yet. When you are still hurting over an ex, you will be bringing these hurt feelings into a new relationship and that will not make for a happy experience. Let time run its course, and don't worry or hurry it-someone else special will come along someday :)

I am so sorry about the pain you are feeling. I can relate to it completely. I was apart from my ex for about 7 months and then recently he and I have spent some time together. It is not like it once was, but I am hopeful. I think I will love him until my last breath. I am not a teenager I just know that the way he makes me feel is what I want. Dating others just makes me miss him more. They have been nice men, but their problem is that they are not like him and I don't want to move forward. I have a girlfriend that tells me I sabatoge every possible relationship I have been offered and I do believe she is correct. I just want to wait! I would rather sit home with my dog than go out with someone else right now. That may not always be true, but losing the love of your life may take a very long time to overcome. That is especially true when they have not moved on themselves and only the two of you know if you have made a mistake. Be nice to yourself! Take time to heal and deal and if you truly are meant to be together then your prince will return. I honestly believe that.

Yea im in that situation now with my ex who feels the way you do about me and i do about her. It wasn't working out cuz i never get to see her that much and i'm moving to go to school which will make it even harder. I broke up with her a couple nights ago and i haven't gotten to talk to her yet and i keep thinking about her. She didn't do anything wrong and she's amazing and everything but i told her we should wait til we can REALLY be together. I know she still thinks about me and im not gonna go into that but i still keep thinking about her. Songs that she liked when i hear em i think about her or a show we both watch or a certain movie we both saw makes me think of her. I'll never stop loving her at least CARING about her. So I think its possible why not. And its not just me cuz people that broke up and are still cool may still care about each other and maybe still love them not IN love but love them. It's not obssessive don't worry about it its not like you're stalkin him. But you can love whoever for as long as you feel you care for him.

I know the feeling because I was once in that situation and felt everything you are saying. I too closed my heart to other guys because it wasn't my ex. However in time you will heal. You have to keep moving forward. You will get over him in time if you allow yourself to. Also you may always hold him in your heart because that spot is his from the imprint of love and joy he once brought you. You will in time find yourself lonely and missing the same things you too once shared and you will know it's time to give someone else a try. Sometimes the best cure is to find someone new to feel up the emptiness. I hope you the best!!!
