Taking a 2000 year old fairy tale, and believing every word in it is true. That is faith.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Examples of FAITH: By faith:

Noah built an ark even though it had never rained!
Abraham left his home not knowing where he was going!
Moses was hid by his mother at 3 months old!
Peter walked on the water to meet Jesus!
Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt!

Faith is believing in God and obeying Him, knowing the reward is awaiting us in the end.

Hebrews 12:1,2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
Hebrews 13:9a: Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines...

Christians are the body of Christ. Christ is the head of his church.

Ephesians 4:12,13:...Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, ...

Matthew 6:33- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

And besides this giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge and to knowledge temperance and to temperance patience and to patience godliness and to godliness brotherly kindness and to brotherly kindness , love. For if these things be in you and abound they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind and cannot see afar off and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
2 Peter 1 : 5,6,7,8,9

I could keep going but I guess I'll stop, I love spreading God's word! I hope this helps you understand FAITH a little better.

Thank you so much for your question!

Faith is commonly known as a belief, trust or confidence not based on Logic or Reason, but based on a transpersonal relationship with God, a higher power, elements of nature and/or a perception of the human race as a whole. Faith can be placed in a person, inanimate object, state of affairs, proposition or body of propositions such as a religious credo.
